Ebony Richardson-Pratt is a boutique stylist, fashion entrepreneur, retail professional, and mother of nine who has dedicated over 20 years to the fashion industry—all while breaking barriers and creating opportunities for others.
Her journey began as a personal shopper and stylist, working one-on-one with clients to curate personal looks, which eventually led her into the retail world. For several years, she served as a personal shopper for international clients, before becoming a personal client stylist at a boutique in Philadelphia, where her styling expertise helped generate thousands of dollars in daily sales for the company.
Ebony’s career gave her a front-row seat to the fashion industry’s biggest moments, including New York Fashion Week and the opportunity to speak at The Pratt Institute of Design, inspiring future designers and business owners. In 2018, driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, she founded Fashion Dealer Society (FDS), a fashion-focused business that she successfully grew into a thriving enterprise that serves and inspires women across the country.
In 2019, she made a life-changing decision: she walked away from a high-level role at a multi-million-dollar company to focus fully on building FDS—driven by her belief that fashion could be a pathway to financial freedom, empowerment, and community impact.
In 2022, Ebony began creating Boutique Business in A Box (BBIAB)—an idea born from her desire to provide real, practical help to aspiring entrepreneurs and mothers who want to supplement or create income on their own terms. After three years of trial, error, and investing hundreds of thousands of dollars, she built a complete platform from scratch—one that she can confidently say is the solution she once wished she had: a true steppingstone for women who want to own businesses, gain independence, and change their financial futures.
BBIAB was designed as an alternative to overpriced eBooks, vendor lists, subscription-based websites, and paid mentorships, offering real tools, systems, and support—without the gatekeeping. Ebony’s mission through BBIAB and FDS is to help create 1,000 financially stable families, empowering women from underserved communities and low-income homes to build businesses, achieve stability, and leave legacies for generations to come.

Being a mother of 9 children herself, the dedication and time she put in to get this business going so that women can find their place in this world with confidence. Where they don’t have to spend all their savings with no safety net. Boutique Business In A Box is that safety net Ebony created because she wanted someone to be that for her when she needed it, so she didn’t have to struggle through life at times being a single parent, jobless, homeless, and alone.
Boutique Business In A Box is more than a business for Ebony it’s an organization to build powerful and confident women, who in turn can use their confidence to build up their families and communities.
